CODRINGTON TURNS SILVER TO GOLD
At last year's championships in Kentucky
Morgan Codrington
(VO2Max Track Club) finished second in the 7-8 girls race; as she was outlined by just .30 seconds by Sadie Hamon of Washington. With Hamon graduating to the 9-10 division this year that left Codrington as the highest returner and the favorite to win this year. She lived up to the favorite roll as she won; but again it was a close race. She stopped the clock at 7:33 to beat Presley Tragesser of Indiana by just 1.44 seconds.
Victoria Pavani
(Ocean Breeze Wave Runners) finished fifth running 8:14 to join Codrington on the awards podium to receive her championship medal and all-American commemorative hat.
Louisa Bruce
(Westchester Wolves) finished 26th; just missing all-American honors by .52 seconds
BOSCHEN AND RILEY PLACE FOURTH; EACH EARNING FOURTH CAREER ALL-AMERICAN HONOR
Cyrus Boschen
(VO2Max Track Club) and
Abigail Riley
(VO2Max Track Club) each ran to fourth place finishes in the 9-10 division and each earned their fourth career cross country all-American honor.
In the boys race, Boschen stopped the clock at 10:44 to place fourth to garner all-American honors for the fourth time in his career.
Harvey Hightower
(Prospect Park Youth RC) finished 18th running 11:11 to join Boschen at the awards ceremony to receive his championship medal and all-American hat. The race was won by Craig Thompson of California in 10:31.
In the girls race, Riley also ran to a fourth place finish to earn all-American honors for the fourth straight year. Her time was 11:35. Riley's VO2Max Track Club teammate,
Catherine Cope
finished 11th running 11:50.
Alison Cleary
(Prospect Park Youth RC) finished 26th, just missing all-American honors by .58 seconds. The race was won by Kalliah Boddie of Maryland in 11:20.
