Bayly wins USATF Masters Half Marathon title in Syracuse

NEW YORK RESULTS SCOREBOARD
On Sunday (20-March) 5 athletes from USATF New York competed in the
USATF Masters Half Marathon Championships
in Syracuse. The championships were hosted by the Syracuse Half Marathon and were the the fourth race in the 2022 USATF National Masters Grand Prix. A total of 181 athletes from 24 states competed in the championships.
In the women's race
, 54, of New York returned to national championship racing and won the women's 50-54 division in a time of 1:24:08. She defeated a red-hot Abby Dean of Delaware. Dean had recently won the national 5 km title in Atlanta. Bayly's performance scored 92.61 on the age-grading tables (where a score of above 90 is considered world class). It was the third best age-graded score of the 181 competitors.
Also earning a trip to the awards podium was
, 47, of New York. Wassner finished second in the 45-49 division running 1:25:52. She was just 31 seconds behind division winner Sara Girotto of Pennsylvania. Her age graded score was 82.62; the 14th best among the 57 women.
In the men's race
, 40, ran 1:12:40 to finish fourth in the 40-44 division. He was just 25 seconds behind third place finisher John Poray, Jr. of Indiana. The division was won by Jesse Davis of Indiana in a time of 1:09:46. Faulkner's age-graded score was 82.83; the 26th best among the 124 men competitors.
, 61, of Bedford, NY finished ninth in the 60-64 division and
, 43, of Ozone Park, NY finished 27th in the 40-44 division.
