Can you describe what your daily responsibilities have been over the past 2-3 months and how they differ from before the pandemic?
In March, as the pandemic was affecting NYC, my days were incredibly long and very busy. All CU employees were  working virtually. The nurse practitioner students were no longer allowed in clinicals and I focused on finding the students alternate opportunities. I became the faculty advisor for approximately 180 students, working on 10 covid-19 service projects through New York Presbyterian Hospital. The projects included covid-19 hotlines, emotional support calls to patients, telemedicine visits and more. I also worked with NYC Health and Hospital system to include our nurse practitioner students on their covid-19 information hotline.
I am also a nurse practitioner at The Cancer Institute of NJ and have transitioned clinic visits to virtual visits with oncology patients.

Have you been able to continue to train at your normal level?
In March and April, I was not able to train at my normal level due to the very long work hours but this has improved as the number of covid-19 patients in the NYC hospitals has decreased. Now I am able to train at a more typical level!

When did you start running?
After college, I moved into NYC. In 1991 I ran my first NYRR race and have been running ever since!

How did you get your start in the sport?
One of my friends asked if I would join them in running a NYRR race in Central Park and after that race,  I found that I wanted to improve. That led to more races and ultimately to joining a team! Running for a team has kept me motivated to continue to run and race!Favorite place to race?

Where is your favorite place to run?
Rockefeller State Park. You cannot beat those trails!

What are your future racing goals?
I do not believe there will be many races in  fall 2020 so I am starting to think about 2021. I love cross country and any race distance between 5km-10km!  My goal is always to help my Central Park Track Club master's team do well in the NYRR points races!
