The sweltering heat of Savannah, Georgia, didn’t slow down the rising stars of USATF New York. Competing at the 2025 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at Savannah State University (July 21-27), 151 athletes from New York took on the nation’s best, collectively competing in 218 events.
Their results were remarkable: 36 All-American performances (top 8), five national titles, and dozens of proud moments across the track, in the field, and on the podium.
At the heart of the medal haul was Abigail Robisky (Ocean Breeze Wave Runners) who lit up the track in the Girls 13-14 division with commanding victories in the 100m (12.10) and 400m (54.38), and a fifth-place in the 200m. Her younger sister, Catherine Robisky, added to the family legacy by capturing silver in the Long Jump (4.88m) and placing in the top 20 in both the 80m hurdles and 100m.
Also taking double gold was Kane Poje (Neversink TC) who asserted dominance in the Boys 15-16 throws, claiming titles and personal bests in both the Hammer Throw (60.96m) and Shot Put (17.15m).
I had an incredible time at the Junior Olympics in Savannah! Not only did I make some amazing memories, but I'm proud to be coming home with two gold medals-one in shot put and one in hammer throw. The competition was some of the toughest I've faced, and I'm thrilled to have set two new personal records. All the long practices, hard work, and late nights really paid off. I'm so thankful for the support of my coaches, my family, my community and the Tri-Valley Bears. I couldn't have done this without all of you!
