Brooklyn TC and Central Park TC Earn Podium Finishes at USATF National Club Cross Country Championships

New York athletes turned in a strong showing on Sunday (11-Jan) at the USATF National Club Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Florida, highlighted by podium team finishes from Brooklyn Track Club and Central Park Track Club – Tracksmith against the nation’s top club programs.

In the Open Men’s 10 km race, Brooklyn Track Club earned a national runner-up finish, placing second overall with 101 points. Leading the charge was Travis Mahoney, who crossed the line fourth overall in 31:13. He was followed closely by Ryan Cutter, eighth in 31:31, and Brendan Martin, who placed 16th in 32:04. Additional scoring support came from Redatu Semeon (42nd, 32:49) and Sean Grossman (46th, 32:56). GRC Tracksmith (District of Columbia) won the team title with 74 points.

Manhattan Track Club finished 21st as a team. 

On the women’s side, Central Park Track Club – Tracksmith delivered another podium performance, finishing third overall with 104 points in the Open Women’s 6 km race. Kidan Kidane led the team with a 10th-place finish in 21:06, followed by strong runs from Alexandra Conway (27th, 21:43), Victoria Kingham (29th, 21:47), Roberta Groner (30th, 21:48), and Madison Offstein (32nd, 21:55). Katherine MacCary, Brooke Starn, and Maryann Gong also competed, contributing to a deep and competitive team effort. The team title was claimed by Minnesota Distance Elite with 21 points, followed by Peninsula Distance Club in second with 70 points. 

Manhattan Track Club placed 14th in the Open Women’s team standings, led by Erin Jaskot, Laura Barreca Engel, and Jenny LeRoy, with additional finishes from Megan Strauss, Megan Stollsteimer, and Laine Higgins.

In the Masters races, Daniel Sullivan finished 49th in the Men 40–44 division, while Jeff Benjamin and Tony Gulotta represented New York in the Men 60–64 division, placing 55th and 56th, respectively.
