Results

USATF New York athletes turned in a strong showing at the USATF Youth Indoor Championships, held March 20–22 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, highlighted by 37 national titles and a deep group of podium finishers.

A total of 1887 athletes from across the country competed over the three-day competition.

Leading the way for the New Yorkers were several standout performers who captured multiple national titles.

Benjamin Cartwright Jr. (Dashing Dons & Divas) was one of the meet’s most dominant athletes, sweeping three events in the 9–10 Boys division with victories in the 55m, 200m, and Long Jump.

In the 8U division, Charlotte Codrington (VO2Max TC) doubled up with wins in both the 800m and 1500m, showcasing impressive range.

Distance doubles were a theme throughout the meet. Hudson McGuire (Ocean Breeze Wolves) claimed titles in the 9–10 Boys 800m and 1500m (and silver in the Long Jump), while Kamora Ruelas (288 TC Coney Island) matched that feat in the 17–18 Girls division with victories in the 800m and 1500m.

Keannu Lawson (Ruff Kutz) also secured a distance double in the 13–14 Boys 800m and 1500m and earned a silver medal in the 400m, and Lyon Achigbu (VELOCITY TC NY) demonstrated versatility by winning both the 400m and 55m hurdles in the 13–14 Girls division.
