Grant Application USATF New York has announced the launch of a grant program to support the establishment of new youth clubs. Starting this spring, USATF New York will award 10 grants, totaling $18,000, to schools located within the geographical boundaries of USATF New York (New York City and the counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, and Westchester). The grants are designed to help schools start new youth track & Field programs by covering start-up costs, offering coaches' education, and providing ongoing mentorship for the newly established clubs. In a joint statement from the USATF New York Board of Directors, they emphasized, "Our mission is to support USA Track & Field's pursuit of competitive excellence and to boost widespread engagement in the sport—both of which start with our grassroots programs and the development of strong foundations." The grant application is open to schools offering a K-8 curriculum and seeking to enrich their extracurricular activities through wellness and sports. Schools awarded the grant will receive the following benefits: • Club registration fee. • Membership, background checks, and SafeSport training for two coaches. • Level one coaches school for two coaches. • Two continuing education classes offered annually by USATF New York. • Memberships for up to 10 student-athletes. • Mentorship for one year to assist with club administration, competition scheduling, and club marketing strategies. The deadline to apply for the USATF New York Youth Club Development Grant is February 22. All awardees will be notified by March 1.
