The 2023 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships will occur tomorrow (9-Dec) in Louisville, KY.  The competition is at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, the site of numerous NCAA championships, including the 2012, 2015, and 2017 Division 1 championships.

A total of 3225 athletes are entered from across the country.  The top 25 finishers in each age division will earn all-American honors and recognition at the awards ceremony.

Riley returns to the championships a year after winning the 7-8 division. She has moved up a division but is still considered a threat for a top-10 finish in the 9-10 division. Aria Boschen and her younger brother Cyrus finished third and fourth respectively last year and have both matriculated to a new divisions but look set to content for top-10 finishes in their new divisions. Farjami finished 102nd last year in the 13-14 division but has made substantial improvements over the past 12 months and is considered one of the favorites tomorrow. This will be Codrington's first national cross country championship.

Teams that won regional titles last month and will contend for top-ten team finishes are Prospect Park Youth Running (9-10 Girls), Prospect Park Youth Running (9-10 Boys), Ocean Breeze Wave Runners (11-12 Girls).
