Harvey, O'Hara, CPTC Relay Win National Titles at USATF Masters Indoor Championships in Chicago

Results

The 2024 USATF Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships concluded on Sunday (26-Mar) in Chicago.  23 members of USATF New York competed in 54 events during the four-day competition that started on Thursday. 

New York member athletes won three national titles and earned 19 visits to the awards podium for finishing in the top three in their event.

Winning individual national titles were Gerry O'Hara (Central Park TC - Tracksmith) in the men's 60-64 1 mile and Jennifer Harvey (Central Park TC - Tracksmith) in the women's 55-59 1 mile. O'Hara's winning time was 5:16.88 while Harvey stopped the clock at 5:28.65. Harvey also finished second in the 800m running 2:32.49.

The Central Park TC - Tracksmith women's 45-49 4x400m relay team ran to victory stopping the clock at 4:34.64 (#2 U.S. all-time). iThe team members were Terry Ballou, Dominique Saint-Louis, Nathalie Jones, and Lisa Edwards. The time was just three seconds off the U.S. record set by the CPTC earlier in the year.

Other athletes with multiple visits to the award podium for their top three placings were: Nathalie Jones (W45 - 2nd 400m; 2nd 800m), Hal Lieberman (M80 - 2nd 400m; 2nd 800m), Dominique Saint-Louis (W55 - 2nd 400m; 3rd 800m), and Judy Stobbe (W55 - 3rd 400m, 3rd 1 mile).
