Central Park TC 7th at Club Nationals In Oregon

The Central Park Track Club New Balance (CPTCNB) placed seventh and the New York AC (NYAC) were not far behind placing 12th at the USATF National Club Cross Country Championships held December 14 in Bend, Ore.  The championships were held at the River's Edge Golf Course with over 1,000 athletes competing in the four events - Open Women ( 6 km), Open Men (10 km), Masters Women (6 km), Masters Men (10 km).
Thirty Four (34) open women's teams competed in the championship with CPTCNB scoring 244 points to finish seventh.  They were led by Jane Vongvorachoti who finished 35th overall.  Following Vongvorachoti for  the team were Catherine Beck (54th), Shannon Miller (61st), Alyssa Selmquist (88th), and Erin Koch (100th).  Backing up the five scorers were Andrea Bradshaw (114th), Stephanie Herrick (157th), and Nicole Falcaro (183rd).
Following the CPTCNB by only 54 points in 12th place was the NYAC with 298 points.  The team was led by former Princeton teammates Sarah Cummings and Liz Costello in 41st and 45th places.  The other scorers were Esther Erb (75th), Reilly Kiernan (116th), and Alex Cadicamo (130th).  Ellen Dougherty finished 191st overall to finish as the NYAC sixth runner.
Four (4) New York association athletes competed in the Open men's race; all of them members of  CPTCNB.  Leading the way was Carlos Jamieson (CPTCNB) in 154th place.  Jameison was followed across the line by John Kenworthy II (177th place), Taylor Burmeister (250th place), and Justin Britton (325th place).
In the masters competition Sue Pearsall (CPTCNB) finished 22nd in the women's 45-49 division and Jon Luff finished 54th in the men's 45-49 division.
