PRESENTER - Angelo Posillico
Angelo Posillico joined the Army West Point track & field staff as an assistant coach, working primarily with the throwers, during the 2017-18 season. Posillico comes to Army after serving as the Director of Cross Country and Track and Field at Springfield College.

During his first year with Army West Point, Posillico coached Briyah Brown to school records in the indoor shot put (15.33m/50’3.5”), indoor weight throw (19.16m/62’10.5”), and outdoor shot put (15.39m/50’6”). Brown was also named the Patriot League Field Athlete of the Year during both the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons. Posillico coached six athletes to the NCAA East Preliminary Championships, and guided freshman javelin thrower August Cook to the NCAA Outdoor track & field championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Prior to his year at Springfield, Posillico spent six seasons at SUNY Oneonta. He served as a cross country head coach and associate head coach for track and field before being promoted to the head coach of both sports where he served in that role for three years.

Under his direction, Oneonta had 30 All-Americans in cross country and track & field, four NCAA Division III individual national champions, a Division III National Athlete of the Year, and five SUNYAC Track & Field Team Championships, the only five in program history. The program also made its first three NCAA appearances in women's cross country history.

Academically, Oneonta garnered 19 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team recognitions along with 21 USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honorees.

During his tenure at Oneonta, Posillico earned three USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Track & Field Coach of the Year honors, and four SUNYAC Head Track & Field Coach of the Year accolades.

Posillico coached nine All-American throwers, including Patrick Weinert, the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Champion in the hammer throw.

Previous to joining Oneonta's staff, Posillico spent two years as an assistant coach at the University of Redlands, in Redlands, Calif.

Posillico is a USA Track & Field Level III & IAAF Level V certified throwing coach, a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, and also a USTFCCCA Strength and Conditioning Coach.
